Russia among countries with largest number of kids in UK schools

Russia is one of the leading countries when it comes to the number of underage citizens going to private English schools, Vedomosti wrote citing a study of the Knight Frank consulting company.

The number of children in UK schools increased by 77 between 2005 and 2017, while there were 343 children from Russia in 2005 and 2006, and 608 children in 2016 and 2017.

Over 3.000 Russian kids are now studying in British schools. Russia was surpassed by China (7.900 schoolchildren), Europe (7.200), Hong Kong (4.900) and the United States (3.500).

The study notes that housing near the prestigious private schools is becoming more expensive. Over the past five years, its value has increased by an average of 22-54%, and is now between 2.4 million and 7 million pounds. Russian families believe the quality education to be one of the decisive factors when buying real estate.
