Tochka Bank blocks reserve account of Navalny campaign foundation

Tochka Bank has blocked the reserve account of Pyatoye Vremya Goda (“Fifth Season”), the fund that was a legal entity of Alexey Navalny’s election campaign, Mediazona reported quoting the opposition leader's campaign manager Leonid Volkov.

The bank said in a response to Volkov that Tochka had no choice, since it was required to comply with the decision of the bailiffs. The campaign manager argues that no such resolution can be found in the Federal Bailiff Service database. He specified that there was no money in their Tochka account at the time of the blocking.

Yesterday, the Meshchansky Court of Moscow ruled to shut the fund down. A few hours later, Fifth Season’s account in Alfa-Bank got blocked. The financial institution stated that the money was restrained on the basis of a Federal Bailiff Service decision of 22 January. However, the court's decision has not yet entered into force, and the fund has 30 days to appeal.
